We Found (and Made) the Best Tesla Cybertruck Memes on the Internet

To say that the Tesla Cybertruck generated some strong reactions would be an understatement. No sooner had Team Elon’s latest creation rolled on stage than the internet started to break like a pair of bulletproof windows. Impressions ranged from shock, disgust, intrigue, and all of the above, cutting to the core of enthusiasts’ emotions as they tried to make sense of this bizarre vehicle.

As the presentation wrapped and we hopped in Cybertruck to take our first ride, meme lords everywhere got to work. In the hours and days that followed, a flood of loltastic content hit the interwebs. While not every Cybertruck meme was exactly positive, it seems memification indicates something’s impact on society. In that regard, we have to imagine Meme Master Musk scrolled through his Twitter timeline with glee, relishing the focus Cybertruck brought to his brand. We did our fair share of scrolling (and creating) ourselves—enjoy this roundup of the funniest Cybertruck memes we could find.

Remember the renders? @eastwoodco remembers the renders.

Yeah, @Akshayjoshy6, it was totally supposed to break like that.

Fortunately, @safelite was there to help. Guess the mobile glass repair guys offer ballistic-grade glazings now.

Streamer extraordinaire @pewdiepie came through with a succinct comparison between Cybertruck and one of the best video game cars ever rendered. In fact, Elon himself quickly chimed in, confirming that the Halo Warthog was a source of inspiration for Cybertruck.

More video game comparisons came from Reddit. u/indianacrichton dropped this banger in the r/memes sub. Cybertruck is a glimpse into the future, or not.

u/ajallee is spot on with this one. Cybertruck should combine stainless steel sports car performance with pickup truck utility.

u/YashSSJB1 shared the first spy shot of Tesla’s next product, the Cyber School Bus.

@scitechuniverse implied the awkwardness of Cybertruck’s design in comparison to Tesla’s earlier products. The struggle is real.

Elon was always clear that Cybertruck was inspired by the 1982 film Blade Runner, which was set in November 2019. True to form, that’s exactly when Cybertruck debuted. @highsnobiety captured the Tesla’s similarity to one of the movie’s vehicles.

The official Lego Facebook page whipped up their super-simple Cybertruck build kit…

Tesla CyberTruck – Media Launch 11-21-2019 .. Well, that was really something. Yesterday's Tesla Cybertruck launch was certainly eye opening. I, like many, was wondering when Elon Musk was going to say "Just kidding. It actually looks like this…."; .. But he didn't. .. The specification though, was very impressive. From the corrosion resistant stainless steel bodywork, high-strength windows (despite the unexpected failure when designer Franz von Holzhausen threw the ball at the side windows), and air suspensions which could raise and lower the truck. .. Tesla's raison d'être though, is vehicle electrification. Here Musk's vision of an emissions-free world including light-duty trucks led to the creation of the Cybertruck. .. To this end, the Cybertruck includes a large battery, providing a vehicle range between 250 miles and 500 miles, depending on the specification. One clear transformation in electric vehicles is startling performance, and the Cybertruck impresses with a 0-60 mph time of 2.9 sec in the highest spec tri-motor model. Even base model performance equals the quickest internal combustion pickup models from competitors. .. However, all this was somewhat overshadowed by what everybody watching the launch could see – a vehicle which looked unlike any pickup you had ever seen before, save for perhaps in a sci-fi film set in the future. It was obvious that even the crowd, many of whom were Tesla employees, were clearly shocked at what they saw. .. And perhaps this was the point. The Cybertruck is a compelling vision of what a pickup from the future could be. That future is coming sooner than many would believe, thanks to Tesla and the many projects the company has worked on to deliver in the past decade or so. .. Still, I was waiting for Elon to roll out the real truck. .. [P.S. I know it is very early in the piece to admit this, but the more I look at it the more it grows on me.] .. #tesla #cybertruck #pickup #truck #bev #electric #elonmusk #franzvonholzhausen #lego #legotesla #teslatruck #legocar #lego__911 #moc #model #miniland #auto #car #afol #instalego #povray #render #launch

But @lego__911 took things way, way further with this brick-based Cybertruck rendition—complete with Tesla’s E-ATV.

MotorTrend staffers found time in their busy, stressful schedules to whip up some Cybertruck memes too. Pro shooter @robintrajano shared this picture from his first Cybertruck photo session.

Senior editor @alexanderstoklosa suggested Cybertruck’s irreverent, zero-volts-given design with this meme cat remix. Same energy.
