98 Camaro Z28, with SS spoiler and SS hood. I bought the car in 2015 and have driven it less than 500 miles since I bought it. I intended to work on it and replace a lot of part( I have replaced a bit) but time and money (and trying to finish adopting a little girl) have made me decide to sale it even though I hate to see it go. It will be a great car with a little effort and a little money.
Exterior: This car is dirty and may not be able to tell everything form the pictures, but it does need paint. It’s scuffed, scratched, chipped and has little dimples on the quarter panels and has peeling clear all over. The body is straight though. Wheels are from an 02 Firebird. Tires have good tread but are starting to have minor cracking from sitting more than anything else.
INTERIOR: No upper dashpad. Has a carpet cover on upper dash. Dash above gauge cluster has small holes in it where the previous owner mounted an aftermarket tachometer. Tach in car woks but needs programed to show correct. It reads half of what rpms actually are. has no back seats in it. door panels are in fair shape, passenger side window and lock control panel pops out sometimes, has broken tab. carpet is fairly clean.
SUSPENSION AND CHASSIS: Has front upper and lower control arm poly bushings. Has rear tubular control arms, tubular panhard bar, and tubular torque arm. Also has welded in subframe connectors. Has a stut tower brace that isn’t installed right now. Brand new KONI STR.T orange shocks and struts, with stock height springs installed but have some Eibach 2″ lowering springs that I took off(way to low for me).
DRIVETRAIN: ENGINE: is LS1 with 121,500 miles, has shorty headers, 98 LS1 heads(806 casting) ported and polished, small cam(bigger than the GM hot cam for LS1 but don’t know exact specs) Offroad Y-pipe and dualed out the back. engine needs tuning. It runs well, but doesn’t idle the best and does get some bucking at low rpms sometimes. Sometimes the idle does seem to level out ok. it is driveable but it also really needs tires and an alignment. Have a new alternator in the box to go with it because I thought I needed one but it seems to be fine now since I’ve driven it a bit more lately. I have new poly motor mounts but not installed . TRANSMISSION: T-56 with new LS7 clutch and flywheel (less than 100 miles) new stock slave cylinder. Trans shifts pretty good for the most part. If not driven often it becomes hard to shift down into second(its like it gets locked out, no grinding or anything just like something it blocking it) but once driven a while it gets better and better. Higher rpm shifting from 2nd to 3rd sometimes will give a slight grind(also seems to get better the more it is driven). It shifts into all other gear perfectly fine up and down. REAR DIFF: stock 10 bolt with 3.73 gears.
I would love to keep this car as I know this car well over the last 3 and half years and know that it just needs a little time and money put into it to make it a great driver car or a good drag car etc. I just know realistically I won’t have the time or money for another few years to invest into it.
